The Certified Empathy-Driven Leadership (CEDLC) course curriculum was designed to provide students with practical training that will enable them to enhance morale and increase productivity by apply the 5 Skills of Highly Empathic Leaders: 1) Lead in a Righteous Manner, 2) Suspend Judgment, 3) Seek to Understand, 4) Acknowledge Subjective Experiences and 5) Maintain a Collaborative Spirit.

Through peer, group and facilitator led discussions and exercises, participants will gain a deeper of understanding of what it means to lead with empathy and learn how to apply leadership development tools, self-awareness tools, morale enhancement tools, empathic responding tools, and accountability tools. By the course’s end participants will truly understand the value of demonstrating empathy to create an environment where employees can perform exceptionally well.

COURSE CURRICULUM

Empathy and Leadership Education (10 hours), coaching education (2 hours), mentor group coaching (2 hours) and certification.
Prerequisite:

Students must complete Certified Professional Coach (CPC) training prior to enrolling in CEDLC.

Program Details:

After completing CPC, students are invited to take the CEDLC course which adds additional 16 hours.

Start Date: June 21 – 22, 2024, Friday (8 hours) and Saturday (8 hours)

Understanding Empathy-Driven Leadership (Day 1)

  • Describe Organizational Success
  • Identify workplace factors that influence employee performance and organizational success
  • Explain the connection between morale and productivity and what it means to lead in a courageous and hopeful manner
  • Define leadership and two types of leaders
  • Explain Why Empathy-Driven Leadership Matters and how to enhance interpersonal bonding and skill building from a cognitive and behavioral perspective
  • Describe The 5 Skills of Empathy-Driven Leadership Model (EDLM)

Applying Empathy-Driven Leadership (Day 2)

  • Describe Why It Is Important to Start with Mindset to Develop Leaders?
  • Define Empathy-Driven Mindset
  • Explain how to use EDL application tools to enhance morale and increase productivity
  • Apply EDLM application tools in practice scenarios

Certification Requirements:

  • Completion of all training modules and instructional hours.
  • Proficiency in coaching methodologies demonstrated through practical assessments.
  • Submission of a 1 recording showing the application of coaching techniques.
  • Engagement in a mentor-coach relationship, culminating in a reflective analysis of the coaching journey.

Upon completing the BCA Coach Training Program, students will have the skills and knowledge to become effective, empathetic, and ethically responsible certified coaches.
